Last 2 Weeks to Submit / Virtual Workshop Update - July 9th

July's virtual hybrid-genre writing workshop on FLASH FICTION will be held on Wednesday, July 9th from 6-7:30pm PST.

Hello Harpies,

Our open call for submissions for Issue #12 (July 2025) closes on June 30th. There is no fee to submit, but please read our submission guidelines (www.harpyhybridreview.org/submissions) before sending your work to our team at harpysubmissions@gmail.com. For this issue we are looking especially to amplify voices of LGBTQ+, immigrant/migrant, and BIPOC writers and artists during what has been a terrifying year of continued hostility and political attacks against our communities. We have read and seen incredible work—your art is so needed in this very broken world. Please consider submitting your work during the last two weeks if you haven’t already, or sharing our call to submit with other talented friends of yours—we especially need more submissions of visual art! After being closed in July for the publication of Issue #12, our submissions will then open up again from August-November for Issue #13 (publication date: December 2025).

On second Wednesdays Harpy Hybrid Review has been hosting virtual hybrid-genre creative writing workshops in collaboration with the nonprofit org lille aeske arthouse. Our next workshop will be on Wednesday, July 9th and the theme is flash fiction. The workshop runs online from 6-7pm PST / 8-9pm CST, with an opportunity to share work from 7-7:30pm PST / 9-9:30pm CST. Tickets are available through Eventbrite for a suggested donation of $35, but available for free. We hope to see you there!
